Suruga-ya Akihabara (Game Store)

Suruga-ya runs several Akihabara buildings, and this is the one that is only games. ゲーム館 means "game hall" — the branch sits on the ground floor of the Toyo Building in Sotokanda 3-chome, about four minutes' walk from Akihabara Station, while the chain's main building and its trading-card hall keep the manga, figures and cards elsewhere. The thing worth knowing: this branch sells arcade boards — the actual circuit boards that came out of arcade cabinets. That's specialist stock for a chain store. Otherwise it's consoles going back to the 1970s, retro Japanese PC games, strategy guides and old game magazines. (Kokosil Akihabara)
