Ritsurin Garden
栗林公園
One of Japan's finest Edo-period strolling gardens, built up over more than a century by the Takamatsu domain's ruling Matsudaira clan. Ponds, pine-covered hills, and teahouses connect along a winding path meant to be walked, not viewed from one spot. A short trip from central Takamatsu, near the Chuo Shopping Street.
