Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple

Buddhist temple in the Sagano hills of Arashiyama, Kyoto. A calmer alternative to the Arashiyama bamboo grove — it has its own bamboo-forest path with far fewer crowds. The grounds are known for roughly 8,000 stone Buddha statues, placed across what was once an ancient burial ground to honor the dead.
