Nagasaki Stadium City

An Ampharos statue stands on the grounds of Nagasaki Stadium City, the stadium and shopping complex in Nagasaki.

Ampharos became Nagasaki Prefecture's Pokémon Local Acts partner in June 2024. Its glowing tail makes it a lighthouse among Pokémon, which suits a prefecture with one of the most lighthouse-lined coasts in Japan and a long history of guiding foreign ships into port. The local folk song "Denderaryuba" helps too, since its "den" and "ryu" echo Ampharos's Japanese name, Denryu (デンリュウ).
