Why Exeggutor. In October 2020 Miyazaki made Exeggutor — Nassy (ナッシー) in Japanese — its Support Pokémon under Pokémon Local Acts, the same program that pairs Slowpoke with Kagawa. Miyazaki calls itself the Sunny Spot of Japan, its official prefectural tree is the phoenix palm, and Exeggutor is nicknamed the Walking Jungle — so the palm-shaped Alolan form was an obvious fit. (Pokémon Local Acts) Locally the role is 宮崎だいすきポケモン, "the Pokémon that loves Miyazaki," and the tourism campaign is ナッシーリゾートin宮崎 — resort meaning Miyazaki itself, which sells its palm-lined coast as a tropical getaway, not a hotel you can book. Where in the airport. The 1F Oasis Plaza (オアシス広場) is where the big Exeggutor displays go. It's landside, before security, so you can see it without a boarding pass.

Summer is the good time — but it's seasonal. The prefecture runs a Nassy Resort summer campaign centered on this airport, and the pieces change year to year. In 2022 the headline was a life-size 10.9-meter Alolan Exeggutor balloon in the Oasis Plaza, up 1 July–28 August; a giant Exeggutor was there again in 2023. (GAME Watch, Cigarettes Home) The 2024 run instead gave out Nassy sun visors at the 1F information desk, sold Nassy collab goods at the 2F Sansan Ichiba market from 4 July to 4 September, and put a digital stamp-rally point inside the terminal. Also worth knowing: Solaseed Air flies a painted "Nassy Jet," and Miyazaki has Pokéfuta (Pokémon manhole covers) across the prefecture — the official site publishes a free Nassy guide map with every one marked.
